Kate Lawler is a TV host, former columnist and radio presenter, currently hosting weekday afternoons on Virgin Radio.
Kate found fame after winning the third series of Big Brother in 2002 and since then has built up a reputation as one of the UK’s best loved broadcasters, thanks to her down-to-earth attitude and fun and approachable personality.
Starting her career co-hosting Channel 4’s legendary breakfast show Ri:se with Iain Lee, Kate has enjoyed success as a presenter across TV & radio; including Channel Five’s ‘Party in the Park’, ‘The Brit Awards’ for Capital FM and ‘Hit Music Sunday’ with TV legend Andi Peters, also for Capital FM. Kate has also presented ‘Celebrity Extra’ for Living TV, ‘What Women Want’ for UKTV, reported on Five’s ‘Boxing Academy’ and during the summer of 2005 she wrote a popular weekly column for New! Magazine covering fashion, music and TV.
Kate has a huge passion for fitness and sport (especially football and Arsenal). Her love of fitness inspired her best seller Boxersize DVD 'Kates Cardio Combat’ in 2003 and made her a strong contender on ITV’s Celebrity Wrestling in 2004. She is also well remembered for her appearance on Total Wipeout where she made the final in 2010.
In the summer of 2006, Kate graced shop windows for the first time as the face of Ann Summers Lingerie. She then went on to model for the brand for two years, fronting their Christmas and Valentine’s campaigns along with their Autumn/Winter collection.
Kate made her first full-time move to radio when she joined Kerrang! Radio in October 2007 and was part of the programming team that won the highly prestigious Gold Award for Station of the Year (1 million+ listeners) at the 2009 Sony Radio Academy Awards. Joining initially as a co-host for breakfast, she eventually moved up to her own show hosting the all important drive-time slot.
In 2013, Kate was shortlisted alongside Danny Baker, Greg James, Geoff Lloyd and Charlie Sloth for 'Best Entertainment Show' at the Sony Radio Academy Awards for her Drive Time Show on Kerrang! She followed this up by winning Show of the Year at the 2014 Bauer Media Awards.
Kate has made a huge name for herself DJing at some of the biggest and best clubs in the UK, Europe and across the world. Kate now plays and hosts fashion shows, events and corporate gigs.
Kate’s voiceover credits include MTV’s fly on the wall series ‘Fired by Mum & Dad’ and commercial work for the likes of Playstation, Marks & Spencer and Foxy Casino.
Kate is managed by Becca Barr Management and is represented by Wise Buddah for voiceover work.
